Rehab and Pets

Being in the rehab industry for almost 15 years now, it’s all but surreal how different kinds of people come and go in the rehab center I work in.

Just this last month, I had a patient whose main concern is her dogs. She keeps telling me how her relationships with her pets have become surrogates with her relationship with other people – basically attending to them like actual members of her family. Now like any other family member of hers, she gets worried about the health of her pets, especially now in the situation of our environment where viruses could be malignant and we don’t even know it.

In one of our sessions, she asked me if I know of any pet insurance that is secure and reliable. Lucky for her, I am also a pet-lover and so I know a pet insurance that is exactly what she is looking for. Right then, I recommended her best pet insurance for dogs.

It has the highest customer praise I know, they truly cover what they say they will cover – from accident insurance to illness and wellness insurance. Of course, the monthly cost is a little higher than some of the other companies out there who are offering pet insurance, but when it means the safety and security of your pet, the price would mean nothing.

Thank goodness she got insurance. Right after I suggested it her dog got into her husbands hgh supplements and they had to call posion control and rush her to the emergency vet! That bill was high but they only had to pay the deductible.

My patient usually gets depressed whenever she sees her pets getting sick or in trouble.  Luckily, I’ve got that resolved and she has been living now a happy life.

I always feel good to see patients not worrying about anything. I understand the depression that usually kills them inside. I have learned that the best way to solve their problems is not just reading about a book that is similar to their case. It is about understanding where they are coming from and where they want to go to.

For the past years, I have met thousands of people who have been living the kind of life they don’t want to live. Depression is something that they did not choose. It is something that chose them.  And I’m happy to see their happiness. I am happy that my patients are getting the real treatments they need and living their own life away from stress and depression. My passion becomes like a burning flame whenever I see them making their lives worth living.

Preparing Every Morning for the Day

It is 5:30 in the morning and everybody is busy doing their own task for the day. The nurses are preparing the medicine for the patient, the kitchen staff are plating the breakfast, janitors started to sweep and mop the floor. This is the usual scene every morning in the Rehab Center.

I’ve established my career as an Attending Physician in the Rehab facility for almost 20 years now. My life has been focused and dedicated to my patients and team. During my residency years, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of my career. How I handle every patient’s situation and how I can be of help is a big achievement every physician would ask for.

During my childhood years, I am very passionate in helping other people even in the simplest way. I live my life fulfilling others dreams and it gives me a total satisfaction. My team in the Rehab Center were very amaze on how I manage my life and my career that I become an icon of inspiration for them. The hospital people often describes me as a very approachable doctor. I make to the point to greet every personnel that I meet along the way. I become humble despite my legacy in my career and that is why my team has a big respect for me.

As I am about to finish my daily rounds, one of the nurse on my team ask me about how to lose weight fast. As a doctor in my mid 40’s, I always maintain a healthy lifestyle. I make sure to have a balance diet and do my exercise at least thrice a week. I become very active in my lifestyle when I entered my 40’s. I advised this nurse to the same. But I know how young generation now a days wanted to see fast results. I mentioned to him about this weight loss pills for men called TestoGen, I found a great article here.

Christmas in August

I always love this time of the year, everyone is extra nice and generous and everyone is in a festive mood. Maybe it’s the presents (hopefully not) or the cheer in the air but something about this time of the year makes everyone extra nice and thoughtful which I really do love.

It’s times like this that make me feel grateful to be alive and to be surrounded by people whom I love and care about.

Even down at the rehab center, everyone is extra nice and even the patients are a bit easier to deal with. Although, there are a few people who do not appreciate the holiday season due to bad experiences in the past, we try our best to create an environment where they are able to feel the love in the air and appreciate the season for everything that it’s worth.

Sometimes people tend to overlook the work that I do and there have been a few points in my career wherein I have felt forgotten or unappreciated. I would feel a bit down especially when I had to work at the center instead of be home with my family but it is something that I have eventually learned to accept. My job does not stop when I want it to, I believe it stops when people no longer need my help which is hardly ever. But sometimes, people tend to forget about doctors and the fact that we also have our own lives and they tend to get bossy and fussy sometimes, too.

Every once in a while, we get sweet surprises from our patients and their families which I find to be very heartwarming. For instance, today I was given an early gift from a patient’s family which was a diet supplement called Gynectrol. Their family knows that I’m a bit of a health junkie and I like to work out so she gave me this to aid me in my journey to weight loss.

I’m planning to get a little something for all my patients this year as well as long as for the nurses and other doctors in the center. Maybe I’ll bake some of my special spaghetti recipe and share it around on Christmas morning or something. That should be exciting!

I hope you all have done your Christmas shopping and that you’re all in a good and happy place this holiday season, as well!

A Welcoming Atmosphere

Addiction to drugs, alcohol, and depression are just some of the patient cases here in the rehab center. Rehab Center facility is an institution of providing help and support for those patient who needs assistance. We have already establish a good facility and excellent service in providing conducive environment to our patients.

Working in the Rehab Center is one of the most fulfilling career in the world. I started working as a part time attending physician in one of the Rehab Center in our town. Looking at the different patients I knew I was in the right place. Every morning we make sure to provide good grooming care to each patient and letting them do morning activities like walking and stretching. After that, I usually I do counselling to my patients after they have taken their medicine. Engaging them into a conversation that will help them verbalize their feelings and emotion is one of the standard thing that I do to help them recognize what’s going on in with their mind. Verbalization of feeling can contribute a lot to their self-awareness.

In this institution, we unite in order to deliver a nurturing and positive environment. We allow our patients to do recreational activities during their break time so they can freely express themselves. Each patient have different situation therefore we have to know every detail of their life experiences to be able to give them the proper attention that they need. Usually, for drug dependent cases we do gradual withdrawal of the drug in their system. In that way, they will not have any violent reactions and their system will eventually get used to it. Everything has to be done with careful analysis and patience but the result can be very rewarding. I have this one patient who became very close to me and after she recovered from her depression she came back to visit me and gave me a gift. She was very thankful that I treat her not just my patient but like my own family by providing her the care and love. When I opened the gift, it was a straight razor gift set. I was very happy knowing that she remember that I wanted a nice straight razor like my dad always used!

Seeing my patient recover from their dark past makes me proud. The way they see life positively and improving their self for the better has always been the goal of the Rehab Institution. It may take a while to let them realize and appreciate the things and people around them but everything will be worth it once they accept the reality of life.

Life as a Rehab Doctor

Hi and thank you so much for visiting this blog!
First of all, I would like to thank you again for showing an interest in the many things that I have yet to talk about but no doubt, there will be plenty!
I am a professional doctor wherein I tend to patients admitted in a live in rehabilitation center (this is all I can say since some information is strictly confidential). I first handedly work with the patients seeking rehabilitation for drug abuse, substance abuse, anger management and many others.
I live a colorful life and writing has always been a passion of mine. This blog is something I had dreamt of creating for a long time since the internet became famous for these type of things but I’ve never been able to due to time constraints and quite honestly, I’m not exactly an expert when it comes to this internet thing. But I’ve taken my lessons from friends and now I believe I am fully capable of running a blog all on my own!
In my years as a doctor especially being surrounded by patients who have experienced great struggles in their life, I have found myself coming home to new lessons every day- lessons that I feel would make the world a better place if only they knew about them without having to go through the same struggles that these people go through.
I’ll be honest, it’s not always an easy job but I’ve learned to put myself in other peoples shoes and when the job gets too hard, I stop and think to myself that it’s not easy being them either. In fact, it is harder. I think this has been the reason behind my strength and also, I am surrounded by a loving family that also encourages me to be strong and compassionate towards others.
I really hope that my entries, thoughts and writing style will suit many of you and that I can captivate your hearts and create long lasting friendships along the way. I see the internet as one big pot for people of similar interests to connect to one another so that we can create something bigger and better so if you feel the same way, kindly come back for more entries which will be coming frequently in the days, weeks, months and even years to follow!
Wishing you all a great day!
